Self-harm Awareness Day

A day you really need to take a step back and realize words can hurt. They can cause so much pain that people will go the the extreme of attempting to lessen the emotional pain by causing physical pain on themselves. Be careful what you say to other people. You don’t know their story. You don’t know what they are going through. Everyone is fighting a battle. Just like you are. Just because someone’s battle looks different than yours or you can’t see their battle, doesn’t mean they aren’t fighting. Help each other fight. Be on the same team.

To those who have self-harmed or are self-harming, you are beautiful. You are strong. And you are worth so much more than that. Don’t let anyone, especially yourself, tell you differently.
